Presstrip - The White Valley Co


Back in 2017, we started working with the lovely White Valley Co team on their upcoming press trip. If you haven’t heard of them, here is some info about them:


The White Valley Co have spent years developing the perfect blend of facilities and luxury accommodation to ensure all guests enjoy a unique and unrivalled winter holiday in the world’s largest ski area – Morzine part of the 650km Portes du Soleil.


Now this is one brand that we love. Anyone who knows us and Rochelle, will know how much we love a snowboarding holiday (hello Snowbombing), however, we had never experienced an actual winter holiday, so working with them is a great experience.


We had the best four days with them back in December, so we wanted to share as much of the experience as possible:


Friday:


Team RWPR arrived at Luton Airport slightly tired on a cold and very dark Friday morning, needing food and a good coffee. We had the easiest check in ever, Thanks EasyJet – no pun intended.

**We booked flights to Geneva with EasyJet (really cheap for two people return with luggage).

Flight time is about 1 hour and 30 mins) it was a great flight.


When arriving in Geneva we were greeted by our transfer company Skiidy Gonzales who were rocking a sombrero – easy to spot and what a great idea. We then waited for the rest of the guests to arrive influencer and blogger Bonnie Rahkit and Charile Vanderberg, DNA travel and Lauren from luxury travel brand Ski in Luxury. With a short transfer time, we arrived in Morzine in no time.


On arrival, we were met by Andrew, Nancy and the White Valley Co team. We headed to White Valley Lodge and Spa for welcome drinks and nibbles. There we met the rest of the guests and had a good old chat with everyone. We were staying in Chalet Vorlaz and Molly our host showed us to our chalet and rooms. ‘Our chalet’ for the weekend had a homely feel and again we had more treats waiting for us – amazing!


We were then treated to some beauty treatments offered by The Little Mountain Spa –a perfect way to settle in and prepare the body for a day on the slopes.


Friday evening was both the Winter 17/18 season and opening welcome event with drinks and amazing Canapes. We spent the evening chatting to guest, suppliers, sponsors and press, drinking and getting to know Amy Williams MBE (Olympic champion and gold medallist), we even had the honour of holding the precious gold medal.


It was a great way for everyone to get to know the White Valley Co team better, what they offer, who they work with and of course network amongst the guests.


Saturday:

We loved this day because it was snowboarding day!! We had a lesson booked with one of the partners Mint Snowboarding! With boot and equipment fittings in the comfort of our chalet by the lovely Michel from Gravier Ski Shop we were then whisked off by Andrew to Avoriaz, where we meet Tammy for our 2-hour session.

Thanks to Tammy, we had the best half a day on the slopes and managed to master a few tricks – yep Snowbombing we’re coming for you hahaha.


Heading back, we had lunch ready and waiting. After a quick shower, we headed upstairs to enjoy our afternoon tea and snacks, thanks to our private chef at Chalet Vorlaz Chris Jeffrey.

After lunch, we decided to take in the views and area with the river path snow walk which lead into Morzine town - check out our Insta- stories -It was a lovely walk – but as it was so old our phones died and so we couldn’t take that many pictures, sad times. We made some friends with locals and had a great afternoon embracing the Morzine culture.


That evening both chalets went head to head with private dining experiences showcasing the talents of both chef’s. Nancy Dickinson co-owner of the White Valley company joined us in chalet Vorlaz and we chatted all things White Valley, their story and how the business continues to grow.

It was a lovely intimate dinner mingling with other guests and press & we got to know some more about what is on offer in Morzine and the White Valley Co.

It was such a full-on day – we crashed out!

Sunday :

We woke up to a beautiful day and yet more snowfall (so magical). We wrapped up, put on our boots and got ready to go on a snow walk with Nancy, Marley (the dog) and chalet Pilates instructor Georgie.


OMG, this was the best day (well to be honest they were all) but this was one of the funniest. We just want to add in here – the snowfall in Morzine was insanely deep and the scenery simply breathtaking. Walking in calf deep snow actually proved a challenge and hard work – but what fun.


We hiked up Vallee de la Manche with Nancy and Georgie ending up in a remote mountain refuge named the ‘Craphute’. Mark the owner is a real character and we enjoyed hot chocolate’s and mulled wine in preparation for the journey home.





We had a Pilates session in the afternoon and had to head back, so of course the only way to get down was to sledge. Now, this isn’t sledging like in the UK this was Morzine style. Thanks to Nancy and Georgie we just embraced it. It was an amazing experience and it was so much quicker getting back down hahaha.


We then experienced a great Classical Pilates session with Georgie. It was intense but well needed after our days on the slopes and walking, calming our bodies back down and stretching out those tight muscles.

That evening we heading into Morzine town for a spot of dinner at L’Etale and to experience the food, service and staff. The December atmosphere was lovely and very welcoming and the town really made it feel Christmassy and more excited for Christmas.







Monday:


The last day of our trip we indulged in some chill out time. We had our last and amazing breakfast from chef Chris and spent a little time on catching up on work. We then headed to the chalet hot tub and sat with stunning views of the mountains as it started snowing – just magical.




Goodies provides by Carmex and Sport FX (we had perfect brows and cared for lips the whole trip, thanks to our friends over at B Communications)


With heavy hearts, we then headed back inside to pack and get ready for our transfer to the airport.


Our lovely client The White Valley Company offer both full service and self-catered chalet options in addition to creating bespoke holidays for their guests. Individual rooms reservations are also possible outside of the school holidays where adult guests can enjoy the Lodge and Spa experience without having to book a whole chalet.





Prices start from £5000 for a large self-catered chalet, £895 per person for a seven-night stay on a catered basis at Chalet Vorlaz. The Lodge and Spa can be rented on an exclusive use basis with prices from £9995 or by the room prices when available.
